Catching keeps failing: rear throws, sleep, Break and pods
The short answer
Read catch eligibility and displayed probability before throwing. Launch reports identify rear throws and sleep as helpful conditions. Improve the situation before spending a rare pod.

Check four things
- Target: distinguish wild creatures, capturable elites, and non-capturable bosses. Trust the in-game prompt.
- Angle and state: a launch report gives 1.5× for rear throws and 2× for favorable states such as sleep. Verify the displayed probability; do not assume a guaranteed catch.
- Level gap: when the target is much higher, progress first or choose an easier target.
- Pod: read its effect and check stock. Practice aiming with ordinary supplies.
A complete attempt
- Approach from behind, wait for a favorable behavior, and confirm the reticle is on the intended target.
- Check probability once. If it is poor, change conditions rather than emptying your inventory.
- In combat, control damage when capture is the goal and watch for the Break capture prompt.
Elite encounters
- Elites may require defeating the encounter before the capture stage. Do not apply the ordinary wild-creature procedure to every boss.
- Check whether reward claiming and catching resolve separately, then review pod and stamina costs before retrying.
